There's no fixing this. Half the country wants a cradle-to-grave welfare state with open borders. The other half want our military to be involved in every corner of the globe. Either way, we're fricked financially. I knew we were done when supposed conservatives chose John McCain and Mitt Romney over Ron Paul in 2008 and 2012.

It's a real problem, and unfortunately Trump is the only person in Washington who wants to fix it.
As he sues the country for 10 billion bucks to pad his pockets and gives himself and his buddies a huge tax break.

Fiscal conservatives don’t exist anymore. We only get social conservatives that spend like democrats.

Medicare Medicaid and social security gotta go.
Half the people with Medicare are under the age of 18 and 90 percent of the people with Medicaid are over 65. It's complicated..

No joke, I don’t know how you made it this long being so clueless. Maybe when you grow up things will get better for you…maybe…

This is the real issue.
Where does all the money that the government spend on social security, Medicare, defense, interest on the debt and so forth go???
The people that receive that initial benefit are merely a pass through. Eventually, the money all winds up in the hands of corporations and wealthy individuals. They are making record profits while at the same time their tax rates (on those record profits) are being lowered.
They scream “Make America Great Again” - well, if the 1950s were considered to be the high point in American history ask yourself what were the corporate and top tax rates for individuals then?

Who are we borrowing the money from?

borrowed $696 billion. That included $94 billion in January alone, and works out to an average of $43.5 billion for each of the 16 weeks of the four months since.
Fake news. Everyone knows there are 17 weeks in a 4 month period, so it's only $40.94 billion per week. /s
I'm not sure why the author calls out January when it's below the 4 month average of $174B. Doing the math, October - December would have averaged over $200B per month.
January probably had above average collections with Quarterly tax estimates due.

We borrow money & then give Israel 8 billon. So the bank ran by (insert) then turn around & give it to Israel odd why can’t Israel go to the bank and borrow their own money

This is what happens when the left wing pieces of shite got the activist federal judges to tie DOGE’s hands a million different ways and stop the audits.
The CBO notes that the $696 billion deficit is actually $143 billion less than the same period in FY 2025 due to higher revenues, partly from factors like tariffs. So Trump/DOGE did show improvement from 2025
The Democrats and Republicans were never gonna let DOGE shut off the money faucets.

Think about it.

The budget needs to be balance to the 1.22 billion that we took in revenue. Cut all those programs until you reach it

$402 B Social Security
$270 B Net Interest
$267 B National Defense
$261 B Health
$254 B Medicare
Cut all these line items by 10% you've balance the budget. Except interest we can't cut that initially

Bless your heart. I get it, reality is hard. Supporting big government overreach comes with big losses in the land of the free. One day maybe you'll realize that supporting the targeting of political opponents is what children do, and adults prefer consequences of those actions.

Trump is not a conservative and never claimed to be. There are no fiscal conservatives any more in DC. They are all grifters.
I voted for Bill Clinton in 1996 then Al Gore in 2000. Trump's 2016 platform was about one inch to the right of Clinton's in 1996. That's how far left the Democrat party has gone.
Either way, Trump has spent a ton, especially during Covid. What is funny is watching the people bash Trump for doing exactly what the pols they support have done my entire life.
