While I thought that may have been the case it was not for me, well at least there is no review of the items under my account. You can check this on your account by clicking on your account under "Accounts and Lists" at the top left of any Amazon page (non-mobile) and then click "Your Amazon Profile" under "Ordering and Shopping Preferences". You can then see all your accounts reviews.

It’s not you leaving the review, it’s the person who “purchased” it (an account run by the seller) and sent it to you

That way their review will be legit because it’ll have verified purchase tag

This is the next evolution of fake reviews. At first they would just review it (these were obvious because of the broken English)...Amazon stopped that so it switched to them sending items to users for free to “test” with the caveat that users would have to post that they were given the item for free to test. That started getting out of hand/abused so Amazon made it against the rules to send items for free for testing and implemented the Verified Purchase system, so this is the exploitation of that. Enjoy the free stuff

I considered that but in the end that is stupid. If they simply want a verified purchaser tag and not attempting to spoof an account why send the item(s) to someone random? If they have gone to the trouble of setting up all these fake accounts then ship the items to known entities instead, friends, family, PO boxes etc so the merchandise can simply be recycled or at least shared with people that you know.

Amazon is trying to figure out how to get rid of crap they normally have to pay a company to haul off. You are part of an experiment.

Since Amazon is zero help (shocker) just toss the stuff in the trash. No harm, no foul.

Amazon is pretty weird sometimes. I bought my little girl one of those party bubble machines one time and it arrived damaged but functional.

I left a review with pictures showing the damage.
A couple days later a new one showed up. No charge on my CC.

I NEVER contacted Amazon about the damage and wasn't returning it. Not worth the trouble for a $45 item.

Keep the shite and sell it on craigslist or ebay.

That's exactly what I did.

Amazon sends me a 400 dollar ice machine. I call and they have zero record of sending it to me or anyone else. They said keep it.

You realize how easy it is to actually return things? You just go to return, check the have UPS pickup option and then throw it on your doorstep. You don’t even need a label. They handle that. It’s literally about as easy as 1-2 minutes.

Years ago I bought a Fisher-Price digital camera; it was complete crap even for a toy.

Tried to return it and the seller and I went round and round with the seller.

Said frick it; not worth the effort.
