So... You pay the company that you are leasing from to paint it for you?

I have it on good authority that commercial pilots hate flying cargo, especially for long haul flights.

The only plane that's tolerable to them is a 747 freighter.

What's the difference? No angry 50 year old flight attendants to hit on?

Cramped as shite with bathrooms, kitchens and crew rest being smaller than passenger version.

The painting of the aircraft threw me. My wife is in airplane maintenance. You can't paint it if you don't own it.

The majority of commercial aircraft are leased and not outright owned by the airline.

Nerd alert: the tail number on the plane in the OP is N1997A, 1997 is a prime number.

Not true. Long haul cargo is a great job. Some of the top pay and benefits, without the passenger piece of it.

Now cargo flying for small feeders can be hard work usually done by new pilots. Older, piston or turbo prop equipment that has to fly in the weather and not over it, getting paid just enough to buy peanut butter and bread.

If I'm not mistaken, AIG owned a very lucrative aircraft leasing company. I think it came up quite a bit during the bailout.

A lot of players.

Mainly GE and Wells Fargo in the U.S.

I have friends that fly for FedEx and UPS and they don't mind, especially when they see their paychecks.

The lack of windows really helps the aesthetics.
