Growing up, I used to march with my uncle when he did parades and inaugurations and whatnot in Jackson, MS growing up. I became a drummer in school so that is probably what kept him from putting me on the pipes. I told him the kilt was more than enough for me.

I absolutely hated wearing that kilt until I was older.. But looking back now, it was just an awesome experience and I wish I had took on my heritage sooner than I did to be a part of all that growing up.

He pretty much only does weddings and funerals now, but when he had his crew of bagpipers they were pretty well known all over the state for the last 30 years or so. They went by Father of Waters.

The only place I've heard Amazing Grace on bagpipes is on Star Trek.

My grandpa passed away back in March. Cause of COVID we couldn’t hold a public funeral for him.

One of the neighbors played Amazing Grace on the bag pipes for us. They played in their front yard (about a mile away) and we just stood outside listening. Hearing that sound echo through the mountain and the trees was so beautiful. There was not a dry eye there

A friend had a business idea. He was going to buy a Bobcat type tractor and a set of bagpipes. Dig graves and play Amazing Grace every day. Profit.

Someone knows hymnody!

In Paradisum
Play the pipes outside the church or at the cemetery. Don't like A.G. (NEWTON) all that much.
