Again, why not sit on the end? Kind of a dick move to just sit in the middle.
How is it at all a dick move to sit in any seat in an empty row?
It's the DMV, not church. You aren't expecting whole families to come in.

I would have stated that I shouldn't move because I have Covid and don't won't to spread it....lol

Wow, too much victim blaming (so to speak) just like society. No one likes accountability.
The lady was wrong and thats the bottom line. She had no consideration for others and no self awareness. Thats typical nowadays, its always me me me.
Great job not moving. Should have burped and said “wow, that was a fart that got cheated, might not be so lucky next time”.

I would’ve moved over on my own if she sat next to me. I don’t want to sit that close to trashy people at the DMV.

I don’t think you were in the wrong. I would suggest taking the 2nd seat from the end. That way nobody will sit next to you on the end and gives you extra space.
People now have no idea of discretion or personal space. Lines are crossed every day by these idiots.

Haven't read a comment but at that point no I wouldn't have left and when they called next I would have got up. Anyone respectable would have let me go.
I also wouldn't have left five seats open unless you were really holding a spot and waiting for something yourself.

Hey, at least no ones gun went off in their purse while you were in there.

Your first mistake was sitting in the middle chair.
This.
You use the middle urinal to convey dominance.
You don't sit in the middle chair if you don't want some fat disgusting slob in your space.

You were not wrong. People have no awareness. I always hate after a situation like that is over and I missed the opportunity to tell her, "No, I'm not moving. Oh, and I have really bad gas".
I did do something similar at the doctor's office last week. Sitting in a large dermatologists office waiting on my appt (about to retire and switch to my wife's insurance, no issues). Anyway, the waiting room is mostly empty and quiet except for this loud shuffling sound coming from this old dude kinda leaned over. I thought, is that his oxygen? i'm waiting 10-15 mins and the sound becomes rather annoying. They finally call me back and I walk by the old man and he's playing a stupid game on his phone. I told him, "You know what buddy, that's rude with your phone so loud." I waited until he turned it off.

quote:nah, frick that, that’s the reason she acts like she does. I’m a really nice guy to a point, but when I cross that point I’m an a-hole.
would have moved over on my own accord. Seems simple enough.

if there is an empty bathroom, do you choose the middle urinal?
if the entire row was empty when you sat down, why didn't you choose an end seat?

I would have moved before she asked because I really just don’t like being that close to your average person these days.

quote:i agree with not choosing the middle, but was the second part of this a joke?
If you walk into an empty men's room, you piss in the end urinal furthest from the entrance.
I choose the nearest urinal, as long as its not right next to someone with others open.
If i see a guy walk to the last urinal, I assume that guy either has a micropenis or serious anxiety issues.

It’s for times like these you need to have a fart in reserve.

I really wish I had that fart spray with me and clear out that waiting room, hell they might have closed the dmv lol
