if your LDL number gets out of control, you risk the chance of heart attacks/strokes. A good statin will help along with eating smart and exercising.

About 6-8 years ago, I learned that my total cholesterol was >300. At the time, I was a workout junkie, running at least 2 miles every day. I am 6' and weighed 172. Doctor said it was just something hereditary that I needed to control. Thankfully there is now a generic for crestor.

I am flabbergasted by my numbers. I am not that high, but I had 207 total/LDL 130/HDL 65

I am fine as my HDL is relatively high and my LDL is still borderline. But I eat very healthy, workout regularly and have very limited family history.

I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea and I heard that helps your HDL numbers.

Cholesterol has exactly zero negative impact on your health.

It is vital to every cell of our body.

Saying it causes atherosclerosis is like saying the paramedics at the scene of a wreck are the ones that caused it.

So you're saying you've blown one dude while another rawdogs your sphincter?

Your HDL looks pretty good considering how bad your LDL and Triglycerides are. You could improve your numbers quite a bit by just exercising 45-60 minutes 5-6 days a week and avoiding fast food.

You will be fine

cholesterol readings can be overrated.

your hdl levels are great, don't worry about it.

While many will bash you and maybe zero is a little too far, the high cholesterol/must take a statin is way way overblown.

Research it yourself and you'll probably feel just fine where your numbers are.
