Am I confused about Minneapolis?

My friend and I were talking. And for some reason we started talking about population of cities. And we would Google one and ask the other to guess.
For reference NYC has like 9 million people.
So Minneapolis came up… and for some reason I guessed about the population of Atlanta or event Chicago.
It’s like the size of Buffalo or something.
Why did I have images of sky scrapers and high end shops and a cosmopolitan downtown?
Google image Minneapolis and it looks like a village.

I think it is kind of our message to Russia that our people can survive that cold. And beat your Russian Bitch arse in hockey whatever that is worth. Not much to most of us

There is no excuse for this ignorance in 2022. You can find out everything about a city in about 3 minutes before you visit.

the population of Atlanta
ATL is like 100 cities in 12 counties...
Like almost 7M people in the area.
Although Minneapolis is big area-wise as well, I'm not sure the Dakotas plus Minnesota are 7M people.

Buffalo is on par with New Orleans in size.

Downtown St. Paul is decent sized itself.

I used to live in St.Paul and suburbs North of Minneapolis.
Other than having to commute on ice in the winter, its a nice place to live...especially the suburban cities surrounding the metro.
