Just take the day off and make your girlfriend happy. There may be a threesome with a bridesmaid in your near future

Sounds reasonable to me.

Why are they having the wedding and reception on different days?

Yeah. I'm not denying that.

If she scheduled a flight and had everything ready for me to go, yeah, I would probably go. But driving? No way.

I read it as they live together but 7 hours away from the friend and the wedding.

At least it isn't a Saturday in the fall. Reward them for not doing it on a gameday! Go to the wedding.

How many vacation days do you get and how serious is this gf?

How long has she been your gf? It sounds like she's wanting you there and more for your relationship than you do.

It all depends on how serious you are about your girlfriend, how long she will be pissed, to what degree she will be pissed, and how long you want to put up with shite storm headed your way.

I dont think either of you is "wrong."

I would likely take off to go to the wedding. But I dont think you are being too unreasonable. But me personally, I would be there for my girlfriend if she wanted me there for a close friends wedding

The first sentence is all that matters and once you learn this your relationships will be so much better. No one is "wrong" in so many arguments in a relationship. It's not about winning or being right.

However, is this wedding in Bunkie, Louisiana or something? Go be by your gf's side as one of her close friends gets married. Have fun at a damn wedding and get to smash your gf after.

You're not "wrong", but you could be "right" if you went, and you'd def get laid and probably have fun.

Nah i'm with you on this one. The bride is the selfish A-hole for having a wedding that lasts two days.

Dude needs to straighten his GF out NOW or his life will suck.

It's a friend of the girl you are dating. You don't take off work for that crap.

I'm convinced some of yal are 12.

His gf is going to a wedding and wants him there. That doesn't make her a needy bitch. Don't think about it being a wedding if it makes you feel better, think about it being a trip you and your gf are taking. Everyone takes long weekend trips with their SOs. This trip you basically have parties planned for Friday and Saturday night.

What sort of minimum wage, 5 vacation days a year sorta tools are yal? Go have fun on a weekend away with your gf. Geez.

She's not your wife, you don't know the people, she's already going to be there so you're not her ride, and you are already planning on going for the weekend.

How long have yall been dating?

Friday weddings are trashy anyway. Tell your gf she needs to find classier friends, or it probably won't end well.

Be a complete a-hole... don't go to the wedding - and don't get a gift. Don't be upset when your g/f dumps you.

If riding together was an option, then going with her would be a good idea. But since you're not, not wanting to take off Friday is perfectly reasonable.
