I was standing outside my apartment watching the parades and a very drunk woman was walking against the parade. She hit a pile of bids and completely lost her footing. Fell about 6 feet in front of the of the float so the tractor was already well past and couldn’t see anything so it kept right on moving. 4 or so people jumped in to pull her back but honestly they could barely move her. Luckily she was able to get her legs up and the float hit her square but instead of rolling her it more pushed her legs and rotated her out of the way. She walked away basically just shaken up but that could have been bad. Those floats weight a ton so she likely would have just been completely flattened right in front of hundreds of people and I don’t even know what the rest of the parades would do. Probably the closest I’ve ever seen someone come to dying especially while not driving.

One of my son’s friends lost his dad about 10 years ago when fell off a float and was run over. Terrible.

I’m amazed that the number of drunks not killed at Mardi Gras are as high as they are.

My wife’s friend from high school got knocked off his float by a red light and he died in Houma. This was 10-15 years ago or so.

Sorry for the Grammar Nazi moment, but should say "Saw a woman almost get crushed to death"

I read the headline an thought the woman was dead, but you were looking the other way when it happened.

Yes. Sucks the link didn’t open. My son goes to Stanislaus with his son. Abrupt deaths reverberate a while.

The title is: Endymion victim was Miss. businessman

Deacon. Time flies. That accident happened at least 20 years ago now. I think 1999.

What are bids? How are they placed in a pile?

Also, this is Darwinism at it's finest. If you're going to be that drunk, keep your arse on the sidewalk.

1. Typo?
2. Auto correct gone wild?

I dunno either.

A friend of mine saw it, and it completely made him physically sick. Dude quit riding... It was terrible, I ride in Endymion, when the news spread about what happened, it was heartbreaking..
