Has anyone here ever done the allen edmonds recrafting?

Yes, with multiple pairs of their shoes when I still worked in an office. $100

None of my AEs are shell cordovan, and they all look like they’re new. They should all last for a lifetime.

I’d wear them. I wouldn’t pay $950 for the privilege.

Hard to beat the quality of Shell Cordovan and Allen Edmonds craftsmanship. They'll last a lifetime if taken care of.

Has the quality decreased since private equity bought them?

My BIL just picked up a new pair of Park Aves and he said they aren't near the quality of his decade old pair of Fifth Aves.

That's what I heard, which is what worried me when PE bought them.

Guess I'll look on eBay for older pairs in good condition and just have them resoled.

Caleberas owns the company now.

I've bought several pairs of strands over the last five years. Well made and they get compliments.

My opinion as well. I still have a pair of Park Avenues that are 20 yrs old. Great shoes, but have more Aldens now. Recently I bought a pair of Viberg service boots in shell and they are awesome

They wouldn’t last 6 months on the job

They aren't supposed to be Pacific Northwest boots.
