Plus the Preservation Hall tent has all jazz too. That's two stages with 100% jazz.

heard on Sirius XM a few weeks back that Bob Seger will be playing Jazz Fest this year. he is doing a bucket list tour this year (venues he wants to play but hasn't). would be a great addition.

Van Morrison is the big one I want to see but never have
He doesn't really interact with the crowd at all. I saw him a few years back at the Fest and it was a little disappointing to say the least.

Sorry man, Snoop a loop is great for his genre, but he has no business at JAZZ fest.
Uhm, I may not be crazy about the selection (although I do like Snoop), but name all the JAZZ musicians in that list.

My GF loves her the traditional Jazz tent, so that's where we'll be. Maybe I can pry her away long enough to catch the Galactic set

Jazz Fest always has a few rap performances, it's nothing new
Jazz Fest is the last place I would go to try to see a band like RHCP. Dealing with the crowds isn't close to worth it. Aside from the more local Thursday shows, I don't know if I will ever go back on a friday/saturday.

Haven't read whole thread so not sure if true but I have seen Jonny Lang and Brandi Carlisle live in concert and both would be worth ticket prices alone. I wont fight the crowds and the heat/mud that inevitably happens that time of year. I've been waiting for Carlisle to come back to New Orleans for a little while but I am sure she will come back to HoB soon.

Is there no escape from this shite
Walk to another stage, that would probably do out.
Mystikal is a New Orleans native, appreciate the local music.

I'll believe that lineup is legit when it's actually released
Looks like it was pretty accurate.

Tedeschi Trucks band is purely outstanding. Derrick Trucks is one of the best slide players on the planet. Susan Tedeschi has a really great soulful voice that fits perfectly.

Don't waste your time watching Paul Simon at JF. You will have wasted an hour and a half of your life. He has no energy, you are better off listening to some of his cd's.
