Fuel.
10 bucks a person to get in.
175 a monthly fee for the team.
food when you are away between games.
shite can add up depending on tournaments played.

I'm sure but unless you are going for showcase than camps are more of a baby sitting service in baseball. They are good to go if your kid likes it, but its not something I would focus on.

Good God you're a fricking idiot. You really believe people are spending $3k a year to play on a U6-U13 travel ball team?
10 tournaments, 5 over 90 minutes away. 1 being a world series tournament probably in Florida.
$300 for uniforms
$75/tournament for gas to drive 90 minutes back and forth Saturday and Sunday x5 $375
The one world series tournament - 3 days in a hotel room with meals and gas $1,000
That's $1,700 just to get there and back and the uniforms. If they are staying a hotel more than just that one time, probably more than $3k

no one I know does that....they just travel and play on the weekends and train at your own discretion during the week
Posted on 6/21/21 at 5:06 pm to Mingo Was His NameO
I'm at over 3k with everything not including uniforms so add that. could be 300 a month on average.

So you were off by $1300 and thats even with you pulling numbers out of your arse.

Well no, but if it makes you feel better you can believe that

For many its 1k for team plus 250 for uniforms/parents shirts.
From there it depends on how far your travel etc.
World series is in sulphur for ussa. Broussard for 2d, Beaumont and gulf shores for PG. So easy to go to.
But 3k is very reasonable assumption, but most that play travel ball can easily afford that. Plus many are getting sponsors and taking advantage of fund raisers to cancel the team and uniform cost.
Maybe I am jaded but who gives a frick about 3k for a year? That's 250 a month, is that really some extravagant expense to give your kids what they want?

Well sure..you can spend whatever you want on gear, your hotel, the type of meals...but to suggest that people are paying $3k to join a travel team is just silly and ignorant

Well that's not what he asked but I wouldn't expect you or any other posters that are going to disagree no matter what I said to be intellectually honest about it.

He was suggesting it cost $3k to play on a team...not total expenses throughout the year

Because they have credit card debt and don't contribute to retirement

quote:Yeah, most team have uniforms that cost less than that....and lets not forget that if you are not playing baseball, they will go to birthday parties, water parks, eat out, movies, other entertainment options that cost as well. If you dont like it, just dont like it. I dont really like it. I also didnt like dance recitals...my kids like their activities, I pay.
So you were off by $1300 and thats even with you pulling numbers out of your arse.
Yes, some organizations pay coaches, pay for fields to practice,cages....the largest majority dont do those things.

How do you know this? What if the grandparents are paying for everything because they want to watch their grandson play baseball and maybe the parents cant afford it......
or maybe the parents have the money to spend....lets say using your numbers....it cost a family $3k a year....is that a lot of money to you? Thats one fricking house note for most people. Who gives a frick??

The average American has little to no retirement savings, credit card debt, and hardly any cash. Louisianians are worse than average in these metrics. Thousands of kids in Louisiana play travel ball.

To me? No, but that doesnt change reality

No its not

Bro we have maybe 2 kids on our team who don't have a household income of atleast 150 snd most are well over 200k. I don't think many are too damn worried about 3k
3k isn't much money, sorry someone needed to let you know

It isn’t if you are making that much money. Not everyone does. To throw that in someone’s face pretty much proves their point of people doing travel ball to act rich. Pretentious idiots like you peacocking about making $150-250K a year. I will be the first to tell you that you aren’t rich either.

If you can’t afford it then don’t participate
It’s pretty simple.
