really have no dog in this fight but I disagree with that, natural athletic ability trumps all of the travel, private lessons, even weight training, etc.

You aren't intelligent enough to delineate yourself from the general population so I won't bother responding.

Hope your kid hits more than .265 this year. Good luck

Whats your kids teams record? Do you max your 401k and Roth?

Quick, what do you think it costs to play on a normal travel team that plays 10 tourneys with 5 being more than 90 minutes away. Average. What is this number in your head.

At 13, you're absolutely right. Technique starts to matter more and more as the competition gets closer in talent. Even in almost every high school game, it's about God given ability.

If you are driving back and forth to the games that are within 90 minutes, probably about 3 grand if one of those is a world series where you have to travel a good distance and stay and hotels and such.

Minimum.

you know how many dairy queen ice creams or pizzas my parents paid for for some kid that lived with his grandmother or parents just dropped him off with no interest in how he did or just in general? I had no idea at the time, but it probably made those kids life to go eat pizza and play arcade games after a baseball game.
It was nice of your parents to spend all of their retirement and 401k money on those less fortunate.

depends on how natural/superior the athletic ability is. The ability still has to be developed. Playing against top competition, weight training and private lessons is a better recipe for allowing the natural athlete to progress to whatever the next level is. Just about every d1 baseball player played travel ball, took lessons at some point, and lifted weights.

Because that's the path. Those same kids would have still played D1 if rec league to all start then high school with supplemental short seasons were the path like it was 20 years ago.

Except AAU, that was ruined by schisters like 25 years ago

So you don’t even have kids but you have all this experience in dance and baseball and Im sure every other extra curricular activities kids participate in and how all of this has progressed compared to 15 years ago?

Where do you form your conclusions? The OT?

The fact that you think the general population doesnt have a couple hundred extra bucks a week lying around without selling kidneys shows some type of personality issue...I dont know what it is. But it is sad.

Good God you're a fricking idiot. You really believe people are spending $3k a year to play on a U6-U13 travel ball team?

The Twin City Sox have two or three of the best 12u players in the south on that team. So although I dont live in Monroe, that team is a great team with some legit talent.

He doesnt really know what he believes. But he obviously thinks the burger and arcade after a travel game comes from a different stack of money than a burger and arcade after a rec game. Maybe I should show the restaurant my youngest kids rec jersey, I didnt know that the stuff was free.
