I was on the fricking totality path and it was like dusk. I can't believe you thought this was some spiritual event .

No kidding. What a bunch of over-hyped BS. I was so mad I didn't even notice the temperature change.

Much cooler than an eclipse

This.

I see the the sun rise and set everyday. It's pretty cool. I can also see stars, planets at night. Pretty cool. It happens every 24 hours.

The eye of a hurricane is one the most eeriest feelings ever. Not something many people get to experience very often.

Someone needs to watch Planet Earth and get back to us. About 1,000 more interesting and shocking sights in that series than what happened in the path of totality today. JS

And everyone in the neighborhood congregating in the streets looking to see who's house had a tree fall on it

Which is why we aren't "eclipse haters", just haters of all the hyping up of 75% or less of an eclipse, which was only semi-cool if you had the stupid glasses to look at.

Otherwise, it was an ordinary day when you stepped outside at 1:20ish.

i know y'all are downvoting because its a nugget thread but the totality was legit. one of the coolest things i have ever witnessed. crickets chirping, cicadas started cicada'ing, you could see jupiter behind the sun - it was flat out awesome.

I wasn't in the totality zone. I bet (((certain people))) altered the path of the moon.

I rather removing the shades to look at it directly. Seeing the 360 sunset and the crazy color change in the light. Pictures don't really do it justice. It was pretty awesome to see in person.

Been through several hurricanes, just not as special.

Yeah, I wouldn't of found this awesome unless I got to see totality. The part leading up to and after totality was just ehh at best. Getting to see the bead and then totality made me figure out what the hype was about. It was the best natural phenomenon I have seen. Seen volcanoes erupt and the northern lights as well. This was better.

Haven't seen a Tornado, would like to see one as long as I am not in the path for that one.

In 2024, if I am going to bother seeing the eclipse, I will only care if I am in the totalilty area

The totality was LEGIT. A must see for 2024 when it's closer to Louisiana.

I am not. Thus I didn't waste one minute on it.

I said this yesterday, that I couldn't give a shite about it, and everyone freaked out. I'm not into astronomy so I don't really care.

Now people are trying to pretend that they weren't that into it. We all saw the hysteria. Don't downplay it. You thought the heavens were going to open and Jesus was going to come down with a chorus of angels singing.

Saw effects in BR area. Here are multiple eclipse images on pavement produced by light from partial eclipse being filtered through trees.
