You were pointing it at the sun. Your cover can only do so much.

It's a star. They are visible during eclipse.

Not sure who down voted but I'm almost positive that Is in fact Venus or another planet.

Do you not see how it is in wildly different places in relation to the sun? Further, for Venus to look that large, he'd have to be using a tremendous telephoto, which he clearly is not.

It's lens flare.
