It’s the Chevy van you drive Party at LSU.

Found out 4 months ago I’m going to be a dad. Wife asked me to stay sober with her during the pregnancy. Mardi Gras was rough. She lets me cheat but it’s been a blessing.

Woke up on my kitchen floor in the middle of the night. Done puked all over myself. Discovered my son was asleep in his bedroom (he was staying the weekend with me, he lives with his mom) I'd forgot he was even there. Found my phone and had numerous missed calls from his mom. He'd called her and said I was sitting outside yelling at someone on the phone. That would have been my ex-wife. Looked at my checking account later and seen I'd went to the store 3 times that day and bought beer and whiskey. Don't remember any of that. He woke up that morning and I went in there to talk to him. He said I was "going crazy". Said I never did anything violent or anything, just I was mad and calling/texting someone alot. Said I went to throwing clothes in the yard. Opened the front door and seen the pile of clothes in the yard. On top of all that, I had the cops come visit me the day before, twice. Once because I drove to my ex-wife house and started sh*t, then the second time I called them on her trying to get her to come get her stuff from my house

I admitted myself the next day. Spent two weeks in rehab and did out patient for 6 months. Been sober 3 years.

the only person I’m hurting is myself

Once you have a family or close friends and drink to excess without an ability to stop or moderate that will no longer be true. Many alcoholics started down a slippery slope by telling themselves they were only hurting themselves. It makes them completely oblivious to the suffering it causes those around them they pretend to care about. Glad that’s not you, but it is true for a lot of others.

What??? The podcast????

Yeah!! I love finding stuff I forget to bookmark and ran across that. It was damn entertaining and you really are genuinely just you, I could tell you're authentic. I've been on TD since I was 13. I'm turning 31 September, so I've watched Real World OT TV my entire adult life
