Alaska has boroughs instead of counties

The U.S. state of Alaska is divided into 19 organized boroughs and one "Unorganized Borough". Alaska and Louisiana are the only states that do not call their first-order administrative subdivisions counties (Louisiana uses parishes instead)

I thought it was interesting. Grew up thinking Louisiana was the only US state that didn’t use counties.

That is just shitty education.

New York doesn’t use it exclusively either.

(Edit, I love how you had a life long misconception proven wrong, but you doubled down on it and assumed a given exception was the one one.)
