I had seen it from afar for work several times but walked the grounds during the height of Covid and they weren’t letting anyone in the church which was a bummer
Went there a few years right before any sort of restrictions but I brought my kids with me. I wanted to read everything and watch all of the videos but the kids wanted to hit up the gift shop. Need to go back out there again and do it right but from what I was able to read and watch it is a fantastic monument to visit.

Thank you for the reminder, I have been busy today and completely forgot. I'm pretty laid back these days but talking shite about the Alamo is something I won't have, heroes forever. Eat a dick NorthShoreTiger

I went earlier this year. It is hard to believe a major battle took place there now with the city all grown up around it. Really cool place though.

The Mexicans are turning south Texas into the new Alamo

Goliad, was the next battle for Santa Anna. The church, fort are very well located in a rural setting and give a great visual of what the Alamo looked like.
The texans surrendered to the overwhelming Mexican force, and were taken to the river and murdered all 180 of them.

They say the ghosts of the slain still walk the grounds.

The only things I know about San Antonio are the Alamo and those big ol' women.

Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie were standing on the wall of the Alamo one morning, drinking coffee, when they saw Santa Anna’s army coming over the hill.
Crockett to Bowie: “We pouring concrete today?”
