That seems to fall under “cruel and unusual”.

The ACLU has taken issue with the law, and the Alabama chapter has called it "unconstitutional." Randall Marshall, the executive director for Alabama's ACLU, has said that chemical castration for sex offenders who harm minors under 13 shows that legislators "really misunderstand what sexual assault is about. Sexual assault isn't about sexual gratification. It's about power. It's about control."

Yeah, the ACLU is way off base here. Sure, men who rape women, that's often about exerting power and control over someone. But pedophilia isn't that - it is about sexual gratification. It's being sexually attracted to children.
I'm not very worried about wrongful convictions in this space. Most kids never tell and when they do, a person can't be convicted solely off of a young child's testimony. And these offenders are the most likely to get out and do it again.
I'd be comfortable with castration of serial rapists as well. Sex offenders in general are the least punished group of criminals in this country, even when it's involving children. This is the only offense where I'm on board with the war on drugs narrative - someone selling weed should never have to serve more time in prison than someone who raped a child.
What's a sentence you would be satisfied with if your child, wife, mom or sister was a victim? You'll be hard pressed to find a case where an offender got what they deserved through the legal system. I'm all for castration of all pedophiles and rapists.

There’s nothing good about the state having this kind of power. Put aside your moral panic and think about it.

Can this law be equally applied to both sexes? Can females be castrated?

I have a feeling that it will be deemed unconstitutional because it can’t be applied equally to both sexes.

Will the female teachers who sleep with preteens be castrated somehow?

An actual common sense law would be execution.

Maybe hundreds if years from now can put them on space prison barges or planets.

Of course you need to make sure they actually committed the crime, but when you are sure, the most effective medicine is a bullet to the temple. Its not that hard and its way way cheaper.
