I always look down upon the trash that decides to take up my space by reclining his seat. Of course, this is in the rare instance that I’m forced to sit amongst the plebeians in cattle class.

It is rude and inconsiderate of others, traits that are commonly associated with people who are trash. Prepare to meet me at the T.G.I.F. in ATL’s E-Terminal to check knuckles if this is you. While fighting is also trashy, it is sometimes necessary to keep the lower class amongst us in check.

In first/business class, it is trashy to not recline your seat. If you’re not in a personal pod on a long haul, there is still plenty of leg room such that no one is inconvenienced. Nothing says “I don’t belong here” more than a man too scared to flex on other elites with a seat recline.

To summarize seat reclining etiquette:
Economy: Trash
First/Business: Class

Just take your private jet like most of the OT.

Also, I typically don't let trivial shite like this bother me.

Fat man complains about losing personal space in shocking display of a lack of self awareness.

How ever far the seat reclines, that space belongs to the reclinee. If you fat buy the seat in front of you too so you dont get cramped

I go to my seat and immediately recline all of the seats in my row before the people behind me sit. So they have no idea, because I have set a new normal for them.

If you don't like someone reclining into "your" space, you should buy the seat immediately ahead of your's.

Or consider losing a pound or two (hundred).

I’m 6’5 so I recline.

Sorry you haven’t hit puberty yet.

The entitlement of this crowd is astonishing

There’s an entire Econtalk podcast on this issue. It apparently hits all angles of how we perceive what is “our property.” The dilemma of space vs financial purchase. Pretty interesting.

I’m 6’3. When I sit down my knees are automatically jammed into the seat in front of me.

The person in front may pull the lever and may attempt to recline but that seat ain’t moving.

They usually assume it is broken and sit up like an adult for the duration of the flight.

I reclined once and this girly-man behind started crying. I offered him a tissue.

Do yourself a favor and spend the $20 on economy comfort.

What I gather from the responses here is that most of the OT is poor and fat because of the ready made excuses for economy seating.

Btw: it is also rude to use the first class head if you’re poor and seated in the rear.
