To think they got anything accomplished in one year is laughable. Itd take them a year to make a decision on the type of stitching used in the seat, much less design, test, build etc a modern fighter.

And to think nothing can even touch the F22 but we have something more advanced than that

Hell, aren't we still working out the bugs on the F35?

If the 15's we exported were the loaded model than I've been misinformed.

Not only did the Saudi's get everything standard, the Israelis added their own electronics as well.

The Saudis are a prime example of why you really can't sell these countries "crippled" versions of planes. The Saudis have F-15s, and Tornado ADV's, and Eurofighter Typhoons. They do this so that they're not reliant on one country supplying their arms. And if you don't sell them primo stuff, well, Europeans or Japanese or Korean manufacturers will be happy to.

In fact, until the new build F-15's come into USAF Service, one of the Saudi models... the F-15SA... is actually more advanced than the Eagles currently in frontline service.

We'll be working bugs out of the F-35 for years to come. Everything on it is software driven, and the bug list is long.

quote:

Anthony Capaccio at Bloomberg got an early look at the report from Robert Behler, Director, Operational Test & Evaluation. Behler’s report cites 873 software flaws related to the F-35 plus 13 “must-fix” issues, including problems with the 25-millimeter gun on the U.S. Air Force F-35A model.

With regard to the gun, Behler’s office “considers the accuracy, as installed, unacceptable” due to “misalignments” in the gun’s mount, Capaccio quoted the report as saying.

None of the problems in the DOT&E report actually are new, according to Capaccio, but they do underscore the difficulty Lockheed Martin and the F-35’s sponsor governments have had in developing the plane.

Trade publication Defense News in early June 2019 revealed lingering flaws in the F-35’s design. At high angles of attack, the F-35B and the carrier-compatible F-35C have a tendency to depart from controlled flight, Defense News reported.

That plane is a mess.

Another possible explanation if the usual skunk works contractors are busy building stargates and antigravity devices so the Air Force had to take it on themselves to produce their own plane.

Uhhh, that’s a mig-28.

Stick to cargo HF, everyone knows the Mig 28 was a single tail.

This is obviously the new and improved Mig 42ski known in NATO channels as the "Frickup"
