That alien technology transfer is really paying off

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Air Force has secretly designed, built and flown at least one prototype of its enigmatic next-generation fighter jet, the service’s top acquisition official confirmed to Defense News on Sept. 14.
The development is certain to shock the defense community, which last saw the first flight of an experimental fighter during the battle for the Joint Strike Fighter contract 20 years ago. With the Air Force’s future fighter program still in its infancy, the rollout and successful first flight of a demonstrator was not expected for years.
“We’ve already built and flown a full-scale flight demonstrator in the real world, and we broke records in doing it,” Will Roper told Defense News in an exclusive interview ahead of the Air Force Association’s Air, Space and Cyber Conference. “We are ready to go and build the next-generation aircraft in a way that has never happened before.”
Almost every detail about the aircraft itself will remain a mystery due to the classification of the Next Generation Air Dominance program, the Air Force’s effort for fielding a family of connected air warfare systems that could include fighters, drones and other networked platforms in space or the cyber realm.
Roper declined to comment on how many prototype aircraft have been flown or which defense contractors manufactured them. He wouldn’t say when or where the first flight occurred. And he refused to divulge any aspect of the aircraft’s design — its mission, whether it was uncrewed or optionally crewed, whether it could fly at hypersonic speeds or if it has stealth characteristics.

The F302 project is real?

This next generation craft has been fully operational since 1989. Imagine how many of these and others with similar technology have been developed in this time period. The rise in ufo sightings is growing yearly. I wonder why. I’d be willing to bet 80% of the unknown in the sky is deep black projects that our government has little or no control over.

Starting a thread about this with no pics is about as bad as if you started a babe thread with only the warning.

Pretty sure if he had legit pics and leaked/posted them here, he would get whacked along with the thread.

I can give you no details other than we flew it. That’s it

Sounds like they’re trying to flush out spies

MAGA mentioned we had some undisclosed bad arse weaponry this week. Timing?

And to think nothing can even touch the F22 but we have something more advanced than that

The F22 is 30 year old tech, and been in production for 20. Go figure we have something nastier. And Russia, China, and whoever else only has ~25 TOTAL 5th gen fighters while the US has 200+. Let's keep that disparity.

Nobody can compete with us. Even China’s 2 new fighters are Made In China copies of the F-22 and F-35. Russia only has the SU-57 and it’s hardly stealthy.

If Biden wins, China will have spied to take the tech and will build their own version by this time next year..

I just hope that all our assumptions that the US military is a few generations ahead of the world is right. We haven't had to prove it in a long time.
Airshows with the gen 6/7 stuff are going to be amazing. As acrobatic as the 22 is, imagaine something that the 22 can't hang with

I've heard Dr. Roper speak in person before. He might be the smartest guy on the planet.

This. Are we that far ahead of the competition, or are they just better at keeping secrets? I would imagine it’s harder to keep new tech under wraps in a country that has to navigate a free press, congressional funding authorizations, etc.
Regardless, even if the general public doesn’t know what the US or our adversaries are working on, I’m sure the governments have a pretty good idea. An entire fighter wing seems like it would be tough to hide.

I’ve always been amazed at how long the development cycle is for military tech, especially aircraft.
Our state-of-the-art strategic bomber, the B2, started development in 1979 and has been in service since 1993.

I'm sure other countries intelligence knows much more about it than the US general public does.
The same goes for other countries. Developing this stuff is one thing, actually being able to field it and use it is another. I dont doubt we are significantly ahead in that aspect. I dont think Russia could feild a dozen SU57's for a week. They might not even have that many. Go hang out around Tyndall AFB for a few days and you'll see F22's dicking around.
