I have a friend that is terrible with money and is in a really odd situation .. He has a credit card bill amount due in 3 days, and doesn't get paid until 5 days.. What should he due? I thought it could be possible for him to use his credit card to take out an advance and then pay it off but I heard that's dangerous.. It's not a large sum of money, so i thought he would be fine.. Any help is appreciated!

Money board. This board will not get you good answers. My advice as a financial planner:
Get another credit card in your spouse/so name.
Pay off your credit card with that
???????
Profit

It's not a lot of money but he can't pay it?
Get a new friend.

Just pay the late fee.
Then tell your friend to make a budget and stop being reckless
He/she may be able to get the late fee waived if they call and this is the first time

The best thing he can do is surprisingly....call the credit card company and be honest. Explain you have no intention of defaulting on the payment and unforeseen financial circumstance has caused him not to have the funds to pay in time.
They more likely than not if its not happened habitability push his payment due date back and allow him to pay within a reasonable period after he gets his check.
People forget they NEED you to pay them. Be honest, and pay within a reasonable margin of error and they'll not mar his credit.

Millenial friend doesn't have his mommy and daddy to bail him out?

Balance transfer to another card with 0% APR.
He can also pay the minimum amount he can afford on the due date, and pay the rest off in a few days once he gets paid. He'll get a small hit from interest, but it is better than nothing.
My advice would also be to make sure your credit card bill due date is a few days after your pay day. It gives your bank time to clear the check, and allows you to pay the bill on time. For example, I get paid on the 1st and my CC payment is due on the 4th.

Dude, just pay the bill when you get paid. It's not the end of the world if you pay your credit card bill 2 days late. Jesus.

East coast that's an ignorant point of view as credit only became a very very serious financial matter during the generation that is currently raising the millenials.
Not to mention these kids were born into one of the worst economies in American history caused by us the older generation. Which forces them into needing credit in the first place due to wages not keeping up with inflation in every single career field from blue collar to white collar
Let's also not forget the millenials are from a purely factual stand point the most fiscally responsible generation and extremely frugal.
People get caught in tough spots don't be a dumb fricking idiot as tough as that may be for you.
Get a degree in economics before you use those dick beaters to shite on people looking for advice next time.

Damm..that thread is fricked up.
Lot of bad decisions led to that.
r/personalfinance 'new' is a great source for unintentional comedy, I've learned.
