Laughable. Genesis are used for limos in Korea. A Honda is not a Genesis, they're not in the same league.

Different segments so hard to directly compare.

MDX has more utility and the better AWD system. The GV70 has turbo engines where the MDX has a NA V6. It is such an apples and oranges comparison I have a hard time picking. For me personally, an SUV/CUV is a non-daily so I would pick the MDX just for the better utility and since we tend to keep SUVs for a long time the MDX would likely have better long-term reliability. I am also not a fan of the GV70 styling but that is very subjective.

I should also note there is a lot of distance between a FWD Base MDX and a 3.5T Sport Prestige trim package factors heavily into this.

I’ve driven Acura-Honda vehicles almost exclusively for 20 years (with the exception of a GMC Sierra truck). Currently have an Acura TSX. They are hard to beat.

I'm loyal to Hyundai/Genesis, but I'd go MDX here. My wife's is really nice and was super affordable as a used vehicle when she bought it. It was similar in price to the vastly inferior Jeep Cherokee, somehow.

I do think there is still some irrational stigma for Hyundai/Genesis and they depreciate, so I imagine used deals would be good.

But, wouldn't the GV80 be the comparable model to the MDX? I think the GV70 is the RDX comp

The Acura Integra Type S is nice. Only comes in a manual though.

I’ve always loved the Genesis look. Great engineering.

People talk out of their arse just because they don’t know about the Genesis brand. This model has a 9.5 out of 10 for car and driver. Looks like a blast

Acura. Only because the Genesis nearly killed tiger.

You do realize the sales of Genesis boomed after that wreck when Tiger and everyone said that car saved his life. It was one of the highest rated safety cars you could get. He was going over 100 miles an hour and wrapped it around the tree.

the 3.5 liter Genesis isn’t underpowered. I was just in the market and we really liked the looks of it but after researching it further I just couldn’t justify it. Ended up getting a 2023 QX60 Sensory. Have only had it for a few days but love it so far. Thing is decked out.

Looked at the MDX and they do hold their value but I don’t like the touchpad for the infotainment.

There's a stigma based on the quality of multiple generations ago and what Cosmo referred to earlier ITT.

And yeah they had engine issues, but it was because they were being progressive in the new fuel efficiency environment and were simply the first to fail. Even Toyota has now had similar mass failures once they released their next gen engines. Honda has also had engine recalls, but not on that scale, yet.

OK I need to hear about this research passing on the Genesis for a Nissan

If you’re gonna do that it would be passing on a Hyundai for a Nissan.

But look up the reliability ratings for a 2023 of both models. It’s not hard and it’s not in favor of Genesis.

Looked really hard at the GV80 Coupe. That is a really nice vehicle that is much less expensive than its competition.

My wife has an MDX. The infotainment system is 10 years behind, and the paint started flaking away. It hasn’t been a bad car, but I probably wouldn’t buy another one
