I always bring my friends from out of town to Deanie’s. I have to say their food is pretty damn good especially the BBQ shrimp.

Felixs and Bourbon House are better. Typical tourists.

I like those places too. Bourbon House is more upscale and more expensive. Acme just seems like a neighborhood joint, but they been around over 100 years because they have very good food too.

Statistically, 3 of the people in that pic will be shot and one of them will die.

The Wall Street Journal proclaimed New Orleans open for tourists today. Not going to be your typical slow summer in NOLA.

Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans?
New Orleans offers a preview of a possible summer travel boom. In mid-March, Mayor LaToya Cantrell allowed musicians to resume live performances. Their return has corresponded with a surge in vaccinated tourists eager to experience the city’s celebratory culture that many say represents everything the pandemic isn’t. The uptick in tourism has arrived as the city shows signs of managing the pandemic. Covid-19 positivity rates in New Orleans have remained steadily under 1% for the past two months, according to the Louisiana Department of Health, and 54% of residents over 16 have received their first vaccine doses, giving the city one of the highest vaccination rates in the state. Other U.S. cities that rely heavily on tourist dollars are seeing an uptick in travelers, including Las Vegas, Nashville and New York City, Rachel Wolfe reports.

They ate at ACME and Oceania.

I had brunch at Oceania one time. Not sure what was nastier, the food or the strippers at the next table over.

I never understood the people that would stand in line for an hour to get into cafe du monde.

Tourist traps are just that. Imagine only going to NOLA once or once every 10-20 years. You would wait in line at some of these places to say you have been, much like you wait in line at places you visit. The fact you can go any time makes your willingness to wait in line much less tolerable.

The shite that people are willing to wait for is absurd.
