Probably takes them 15-30 minutes to change and it's probably a minimum of 1 hour labor charge. I'm not seeing the problem here really. Something like wipers, yes that's ridiculous, but changing that bulb is actual labor.
This is contradictory. It's ALL labor. Changing a bulb or changing a wiperblade. You are playing for someone to do some work.

Sadly a lot of people or they wouldnt offer the service otherwise.

I pay 15 dollars to have a single keyless battery changed on my key ring at the Honda place.
i just found out I can buy 5 of those batterys at walmart for under 10 bucks and do it myself.
Yeps. I will tell you be careful. Them frickers pop apart and can be a bitch to snap back together. Not like changing a TV Clicker battery.
OP You're smarter than this. It's absurd but... that's the price of an hour of labor. It's a set price/hr at every shop(most are about $90 an hour now) and everything has a quantifiable estimated time to perform.
And furthermore, you're paying the opportunity cost of that mechanic's time he's soending changing a bulb instead of working on an alternator, brakes, or timing belt(more profitable).
Beg the admins to delete this stupid shite.

My wife went without me to get quoted on some tires and the guy quoted her like $1,200 for 4 standard Goodyear tires.
I go into the same place and he quoted me $700 after a rebate for the same tires. I told him my wife was quoted for $1,200 and he said that she must've been mistaken.
We're going somewhere else for our tires. That was some dishonest shite.

Tell us who the hell did that. That's bullshite right there.
That's why I trust Allied. They don't rip off women for tires.

Changing the BULB on my 2008 GM Shitwagon requires that I loosen the quarter panel and bumper and jimmy the entire headlamp assembly out of the car before I can access the bulb.
IT'S A LOT OF FUN.
The instructions in the service manual actually begin with: Step 1 - remove bumper.
TO CHANGE A frickING BULB.

It’s NTB. Probably would’ve been rotating a soccer moms tires.

Maybe you didn’t look like you could pull together $1200.

OH frick THAT PLACE. Used to Be Tire Kingdom in BR.
The manager refused to accept my claim that they put a bad NEW tire on my car.
I told them it was pulling left. I swapped it myself and it pulled the other direction and drove it back up there. They still talked shite about the tire being fine.
Then I took it to Team Honda and had alignment checked and they told me the tire had some belt thrown or something(one side is higher than the other). I got that in writing.
Took it back to Tire Kingdom/NTB and they finally put a new tire on it and told me not to come back. frick them people.
Carry on.

Yeah my wife went there for an oil change before and they gave her a whole list of things to get fixed. We took the car to the mechanic who regular works on her car and her family’s cars. He just laughed at it.

Some bulbs are much harder to get to than others. Not everyone has the know how or patience to deal with it when it's a more involved install.

But in all seriousness, I was in my suit from work, so that wasn't the case.
Its just very clear after hearing my wife discuss anything related to her car that she is what they call a "soft target" for upselling

O’Reilly guys are awesome. I didn’t know if it was just the one I use or all of them.
A while back I took my car to my O’Reillys trying to figure if I had a bad battery or my alternator was going out. I had just pulled in to have them put it on the computer but before I knew it the store guy was bringing around his own truck so we could do some troubleshooting with jumper cables.
They are the best.

I have a high mileage car I use for work that needs something done every now and again. I have a guy that doesn’t bullshite and does good work. You gotta have a guy.

Goodyear store in Nashville.
I am leery of destroying them on Yelp because for all I know they also sold my wife on some extended warranty or other shite that she didn't tell me about. Always a chance she was not even paying attention as a person explained it to her.
