“These are on sale…you like these” with mom nodding
Little kid aint said nuthin! We just took what they got us!
I remember my mother buying me shoes in the 80’s like that. A salesperson putting my foot in the silver measure thingy then mom telling me which shoes I was gonna get

Notice them not having to shoot their way out of the store.

[quote]I'll always remember Sears for the Adam Walsh kidnapping and those stupid arse front projection TVs. And Craftsman, of course.[/quote
That Sears in Hollywood, FL was the store my family shopped at. I went to high school 15 blocks from there and my mother worked 10 blocks away. I was home for the summer from LSU when Adam Walsh was abducted. Where else could you drop off your car for an oil change and new tires while you went inside and shopped for school clothes, appliances, exterior paint, power tools and a Mossberg shotgun?

I distinctly remember my mom telling me to "go look around at the workout equipment" when I was 6 or 7 so my mom could collect the Super Nintendo they had put on lay-away and get it to the car without me seeing. Of course I saw her across the store lugging the box to the trunk.
We don't let our kids get 10 feet out of our sight today, but she told me to disappear somewhere in the store so she could stash some gifts in the trunk before coming back inside to find me. Probably just had a cashier page me to come to the front

My heart still gets an erection thinking about the Christmas toy catalog in the 80’s.
