But for their 3.6l I get about 15mpg

Lease a 4xe. Its a great machine.

Those that say it’s way too uncomfortable for road-trips must be a little “sensitive”
If I have to join the LGBTQXYZ group to drive a Wrangler then I'll just have to become queer.
Only one regret. I wish I had bought the Rubicon.

The lease on the 4xe is enticing but the depreciation on Jeeps is so low you might as well buy it new. I also think JK prices are not low enough to justify one vs a JL.
I haven’t driven a 2-door JL, but a 4 door JL auto is way better than a 2 door JK manual. If you are looking an occasional vehicle to row gears in and toss around, buy a nice TJ/LJ. The JL auto is great. Power could be better but ok. If you looking for a daily with a comfy ride and fantastic gas mileage, a Jeep might not be the right car. But if you aren’t a Nancy, a JL Rubi on factory MTs is more than sufficient to daily.

Depreciation helps on the lease and the 7500 ev tax rebate is taken off sale price. The leases arent as good as when they first came out because of jeep raising prices but i also wouldnt want to be stuck with an ev with a bad battery 5-6 years down the road.

Good point. Assuming a $500 lease payment and $100/month in gas savings it’s close enough financially to just get what you want.

A year and a half or so ago you were able to get these for like $300 a month. I got in a little later and was around $350 for a 60k msrp. I think they are 4-500 now.
We hit 1000 miles of driving on 1 tank of gas the other day. My electricity bill avg about $60 a month higher so its been a great vehicle for my wifes driving habits.

Definitely better than I’ve seen. I don’t drive a Prius I drive a F-150 with its 15 mpg on the highway.
The OP asked about gas mileage that’s why I commented.

Baws don't own Wranglers
I've never understood this thought process. Baws don't own vehicles that began their lives as military vehicles?

My boss has the hybrid, gets like 38mpg.

The last one we had was the hardtop and it was a PITA to take off.
Jus have to get the rolling jack. One person can do it and it takes like 5 mins….
And definitely go with the 4 door. Unless you really into hard core off roading and need the sharper turn radius. The 4 doors are a lot better ride.

I only buy Jeeps. I owned an XJ for 10 years, a liberty for 5 years, a wK2 for 8 years, a JLU for 3 years, and now a Grand Cherokee L (exactly a year). I don’t want to jinx it, but if all these, I’ve only had to replace the water pump on the XJ and the camera on the WK2. I am not saying Jeep is a reliable brand, not by any means, but you might get lucky.

I hate the words 4cyl and Jeep it just doesn't add up. I hate them.
I have had every model know in the wrangler.
I love them. That being said buy a 4 door 3.6 .
I have a 2013 I bought new with 125k miles on it daily Driven. Big steal bumpers and 33in tires.

Best option in my opinion is a TJ 1998-2006 I believe. with the inline 6 and a manual tranny. Unless you want to take the kids to soccer practice with the rest of the soccer moms then get a 4dr JK with an auto tranny.
Also any wrangler with over sized tires gets lousy gas mileage.

I get 19-20 in my 2017 JKU.
22 on longer interstate trips like up to Memphis.

Diesel is a good option, oil, filter and fuel filter will run close to $300.

Be sure to put some little rubber duckies all over your dash. You and all your Jeep wave bros can spend all day ducking one another. They’re gonna duck you so hard!!! It’s okay though, because you can just duck them back harder. You’re gonna love it.
