My stepdads father is about to go home to see Jesus. 89 years old and dementia is a bad thing. They’re making him comfortable right now.

The signs had been there for a while and I think it’s God’s way of preparing you for the inevitable. I believe he was a WW2 or a Korea veteran. He’s got to see his two grand children and 4 great grandchildren so I’d say he lived a good life. He loved his St. Louis Cardinals and his church. Got to go to a few games to.

Him and his wife are old school. Never drank, smoked, did drugs. Never ate at restaurants that served alcohol. Never bought fuel at a gas station that sells alcohol or lottery. That’s traits you don’t ever find anymore. That’s living by example folks.

I am so sorry for what your family is going through, dementia is truly awful.

I will pray for comfort for your stepdad & peace for your family.

Alzheimer's/dementia is the worst disease that could ever happen to anyone. I pray every day that a cure is found within the next 10 years.

Sorry to hear.

best of luck, Gump. Hope he has a peaceful passing and your family finds comfort knowing hes at peace. Sounds like a man of principal. Good on you for being there for him.
