If a vaccine is discovered you can bet your butt I won't be getting it. No way I want to risk autism this late in life.

”Everything was positive — the walls, the bed, the doors, the curtains, the phones, the sink, the whiteboard, the poles, the pump,” said Dr. Scott Lorin, the hospital’s president. “The mattress, the bed rails, the canister holes, the window shades, the ceiling, everything in the room was positive.”

I stay positive too.

They should have named it after me.

This is what 60 Minutes warned us about. It comes from the melting permafrost. But by all means keep driving your SUVs.

CDC conducted whole genome sequencing of C. auris specimens from countries in the regions of eastern Asia, southern Asia, southern Africa, and South America. Whole genome sequencing produces detailed DNA fingerprints of organisms. CDC found that isolates within each region are quite similar to one another, but are relatively different across regions. These differences suggest that C. auris has emerged independently in multiple regions at roughly the same time.

Yeakh, all that permafrost melting in eastern Asia, southern Asia, southern Africa, and South America.

When I read about this over the weekend, some people were surmising this was a controlled release of a weaponized bio-terrorism fungus, created off the original strain from the earlier deaths.

Idk. If so, that’s pretty scary Thanos level stuff.

From what I read this was identified in 2007 and retroactively confirmed back to 1996 or thereabouts. It appears to be primarily contract in hospital by people with weakened immune systems and catheters or ports used for medical reasons. Doesn't sound effectively weaponized to me.

Do you just blame all the ills of life on climate change?
