If these two have a happy fulfilling marriage until they die then who seriously cares what they do with their last name. It’s a custom and tradition and it doesn’t mean anything. Happiness, family, friends, laughter, health and a sustainable lifestyle are what’s important.

It's common in European countries. The person with the common name takes the other, has nothing to do with the sex. You always talk about how cultured you are, I thought you would know that.

Funny you should mention this. A Canadian dude I deal with for work changed his last name recently. He sent me an email last week notifying me of the changing of his last name and subsequent email address. I jokingly responded you didn’t get married and take your wife’s name did you? Yes, he replied. It is easier to pronounce than my old last name. It was awkward.

Similar but different: I saw a bachelorette trip last weekend that consisted of 6 bridesmaids, the bride-to-be, and her fiance. That is sure to be a happy marriage with zero trust issues.

If I wansnt a Christian and didn't have strong christian viees regarding marriage as well as the roles of husband and wife, the. I probably wouldnt had a problem doing something like this.
