I was there the 26th - 28th. It was smokey in the morning but got clear by noon. I wanted to go to Jerome and Slide rock but that didn't happen.

The slide creek/ oak creek canyon area was beautiful, we went hiking a few hours before the fire started. It still looks like you had a great time though

I'm dying to do a 3-4 week road trip out west. Just had a baby a couple of weeks ago and I'm trying to figure out how long I can wait. I want him to be old enough but am so eager to make it happen.

Looks like a great trip man.

My son is 7 1/2 and had a great time. He did the Narrows with us. We went 3.5 hours in before turning back and he loved it.

Tucson

I was very surprised by Tucson. The resort was very nice and the golf course was my favorite of the four I played.

The resorts in Tucson are nice.
Living there.....different story

where and for how long?

i lived in the catalina foothills (the same area as the loews ventana canyon resort) and loved it. hiked or ran in sabino canyon after classes every day, enjoyed the clouds and monsoons in the summer afternoons (yes, it actually rains there), and did just fine.

yes, it looks like a truck stop from the interstate. but then again, so does all of the valley on I-17 all the way up to anthem.

13 weeks in some apartment off Sabino Canyon road(I think that is where it was at). Worked at TMC.

I just had a not so great experience there. TMC is a shitty hospital to work at.

Scottsdale/Phoenix are is just a better fit for me.

Plus...closer to Sedona living here than in Tucson.

Mt Lemmon is awesome though. I will give you that
