Have a friend that his 11 year old son has this. Been fighting it 3+ years. They go to I think Tn for treatment once a month.
Young fellow stays sick.

I wonder how close Michael Scott is to getting a cure for rabies.

The worst thing about my place in Arkansas is all the damn ticks.
Worst part of getting ticks is pulling one off your scrotum only to realize you pulled off a tag mole. "We've got a bleeder!"

Disulfiram, by some strange miracle, appears to kill Lyme in both its active and persister phases. The persister phase is why conventional treatments so often fail. Disulfiram also kills Babesia, a parasitic infection akin to Malaria that is common with Lyme patients and for which conventional treatments aren't very effective. It also appears to kill Bartonella too, another infection that is common in Lyme patients.
And it's an an incredibly cheap drug we use to help alcoholics break their drinking habit.

I have been practicing medicine long enough to be very skeptical of “breakthroughs.” But disulfiram may be the real thing. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

This bar graph depicts the number of colonies remaining after treating Bb with the following four drugs: doxycycline, ceftriaxone, vancomycin, and disulfiram. It is clear that vancomycin is a powerful drug to treat Lyme disease. But disulfiram completely sterilized the culture—there were no persisters! The mechanism of action of disulfiram as an antimicrobial is still unclear.
