that doesn't decrease it's worth or the talent of those using a differne tool

It takes a good bit more talent to make music using instruments than a computer. The use of computers lowered the barrier to entry so that people of limited ability can create something resembling music. Whereas in the past you had to have some actual talent to do it. Therefore music now is much more simplistic and less interesting to those that have some musical knowledge.

All of that said, I'm not melting over this. I've come to expect poor performances at super bowl halftime and usually just fast forward straight to the second half. They will always pick bands that appeal to the lowest common denominator and if those folks are entertained by that, it's fine with me. I'm tuning in to watch a football game, not a concert.

This is only true when you think stuff on pop radio stations is indicative of all music made on computers.

There is a lot of stuff out there that is incredible that you never hear unless you look for it. For you older/gen x guys, retrowave is a genre mostly made on computers that will make you think of childhoods in the 80s and the music is very well made and takes a lot of music knowledge to create.

Branch out and widen your music knowledge before making catch-all blanket statements.

Yes, obviously.

Every show would be better with someone dancing randomly in a shark costume.

I haven't watched a super bowl half time show in my lifetime. Music at halftimes is dumb. It's a football game not a concert.

No one can claim the old folks are belly aching about nothing. The timeless music of the 60's & 70's are just that-- classics. Todays garbage can't touch Queen, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, ELO, or even any pop songs. Name a song today that people will be singing in 40 years...

Even Olivia Newton John and John Travolta would put the currents to shame. Ain't no one gonna care about pimp daddy in a big arse ugly fur coat; riding in and singing trash you can't understand the words to.

Levine is okay but not a classic people will swoon over in 50 years. Beyonce' sucks. Aretha Franklin stood up to these sick SJW people-- when they tried to bully her to not sing the national anthem. VERY few rappers have talent. I like the song Levine sang with the girl that got killed by a sick psychotic fan

Point taken. But I stand by my statement that it takes more talent to make music with musical instruments than with software.

This thread is funny. I thought the HT show was cringe but that's mostly due to Adam Levine trying to dance and sing along with Travis Scott.

As a millennial I watched that with an awkward arse smile on my face

Katy Perry's halftime show with her flying through the air like a firework was the GOAT halftime show. Don't @me.

As someone who has done both, I vehemently disagree.

You can improvise on a guitar. Can't do that on a computer. And most guys play piano and plug in a keyboard to make songs.

Yep. You can put on shows with pyrotechnics and wear wings while you fly through the air. But how can you not watch Bruno Mars and think Damn that MF is talented.

He doesn't need angel wings and dancing sharks. He's just talented af

Never been a Bruno Mars fan. Not denying that he's talented, just never got into him. I'm not really a Katy Perry fan either, but all the visuals were badass.

Both have good voices. Bruno's a good dancer, but I liked Katie's better for the props/ visuals. That giant Lion she rode on was awesome. Then you had Missy Elliot do her surprise appearance and killed it. Most people forgot she even existed.

Until just now, I had re-forgotten that she even existed.

That's one way to look at it. Or you could say that a bunch of kids have really bad taste in music and entertainment, shocker.

Fyi--You sound like a 5 year old whining in the backseat to stop at McDonald's. The bunch of old to middle aged people pay most of the bills and make the important decisions in this country so what the kids think really isn't important.

You both look stupid.
