Ok, let's say we go back to normal now. The hospitals are full with these sick people. Now let's say you get in a car accident taking your kids to school. He is seriously injured. Well, the hospital is full so your kid dies. You ok with that?
It’s funny you mention car accidents. Since over 35,000 people die in America each year from motor vehicle accidents, yet it’s not against the law to operate a motor vehicle. The media isn’t constantly trying to instill fear in people about driving. State and local governments aren’t ordering roads to be shutdown to prevent people from possibly killing others while driving.
To answer your question, the hospitals aren’t full if people aren’t going in for every little thing because of this being blown out of proportion, just like they don’t during flu season every year. So your situation does not occur.

You and I have vastly different definitions of "slightly".
My definitions are .1% mortality rate for the flu vs .5% mortality rate for covid-19, based on the data extrapolated from the princess cruise ship.
What’s yours?

"Slightly" to me is within 10% of something. Not 500%.

Because of the very real and very evident toll these measures are taking on the economy, which will also have devastating effects on human health. If it becomes more evident that it overwhelmingly affects a small portion of the population, the people outside that portion should be allowed to get back to living their lives ASAP.
This.
People are already starting to question if it's worth the cost.

Italy had over 600 people die today. The government said they aren’t treating the elderly patients. That’s why so many deaths. Socialized medicine.

Every death in Louisiana under 70 also had underlying health conditions.

And you think what percentage of folks in Louisiana don't have an underlying health issue?
Obesity? Cardiovascular disease? Lung Disease? Cancer? Diabetes?

Cool, so you're just a fan of fear mongering without proper context. Good to know moving forward.

That doesn't spell well for the U.S. Since a lot of the people living in this country are unhealthy. With obesity and diabetes being a huge problem to name a few.

maybe those 40% that are obese need a good scare
Statistically, you have multiple friends and family who are obese. You want them to die for your amusement?

You guys realize the quarantine is not to stop it from spreading right? Right? Nothing will stop it, the quarantines are to slow it down from spreading so fast. Anyone that thinks it is going to stop in 2 weeks needs to wake up to reality. Between 40-75% of people will need to contract it or it won’t stop spreading, most experts think about 65%. So this entire idea a quarantine stops it needs to end.
We need young people to get it so they can’t spread it anymore. Then we need old people to get it slowly over the next couple of months. There’s no stopping this thing until a vaccine comes out, please understand that.
