I toured aushwitz back when I worked for the Czech ministry of industry and trade. The thing about the death camps and Germans generally they keep/kept excellent records. Part of the total numbers come from the Germans themselves.

I’ve visited Auschwitz and that place is unnatural feeling. Eerily quiet, no birds, no nothing. Solemn.

Monty Python once made a TV special in Germany. When they arrived in Munich they were immediately driven by their tour guide to Dachau -- I guess Germans figure everybody wants to see it.
Unfortunately they arrived late and Dachau was closed. Their tour guide argued with the Dachau security guard but he refused to open up for them.
The tour guide regretfully told the Pythons there was no way they could get in. To which Graham Chapman yelled out in reply:

True. I’ve seen the book that has the names of those killed there. Touched it. However, it wasn’t expressly an extermination camp. Only 30k were killed there. But Auschwitz, Treblinka, Bergen-Belsen, countless were senselessly murdered.
And Mo Jeaux thinks it’s hysterical that people believe it was on the scale that we’ve all been taught based on eyewitness accounts, detailed records and manifests, and admissions by those who perpetrated it.

Has anyone claimed 6 million went through the gas chambers? I havent seen that. Many were eliminated by starving, working to death, beatings, etc.
The number is usually quoted as between 4-6 million. Doesn't seem excessive.
In Rwanda at LEAST 500,000 people were spontaneously killed in about 8 weeks. Using mostly clubs and machetes, by loosely organized militia. That's 60,000 per week.
The Nazis spent years putting their plan into place, then killed largely over 4 years. Not including plan time, that's 28,000 per week. Easily achievable.
German efficiency is legendary.

6 million is an estimate based on second hand conversations patched with some birth/death records. I have no doubt 6 million jews died, but not all died by extermination.

This is ridiculous, apart from her age.
Apparently, she didn't post a video online - as if any 92 year old knows how to do that. Someone else posted a video of her explaining why she got arrested in the first place and they treated that as a reaffirmation of her original statements.
Furthermore, she didn't "deny" the holocaust in general. She denied that Auschwitz was an extermination camp and the 6 million executed Jews total, both of which are historically debatable - although to do so in today's climate would be suicidal.
