My grandfather fought in WWII for the right to post holocaust denial videos. What are we doing here?

Hate to tell you, but apparently our grandfathers fought in WWII for gay marriage, sex change hormones for kids, and the supremacy of corporations.

She doesn't deny the Holocaust she disputes the numbers, Germany sets that narrative and are very harsh on anyone who questions anything about the Holocaust here. Regardless if it was 6 million or a fraction of that, The Holocaust is still a tragic event in history.

Are you honestly arguing kids don’t learn about Stalin in World History?

I don't know your age, but I went to high school in the Reagan 80's, the very height of the Cold War, and high schools didn't say dick about Stalin or much of anything else when it came to the Soviets. More, one day my mother remarked that "One thing about Stalin, he lovvvved his people!", and I asked "where did you hear THAT, Mom?". In Elementary school in the early 50's, where teachers still celebrated the wartime Soviet alliance. Further, her teachers described Truman as some kind of monster for "surprising" Stalin about the atom bomb. I told her "mom, your teachers were probably Communist Party members to peddle THAT bullshite".

She had absolutely no idea about the purges, abut the gulags, about the starvation in Ukraine, etc. You seem to either not know or have forgotten that there was a substantial amount of support for the Soviet Union on the Left (to the point where The Nation weepily posted an op-ed about the tragedy of the end of the USSR in 1991). Well into my 30's, I saw common paper and TV pundits who were sympathetic to the USSR in major media outlets, including the Big 3. It's really no surprise that Reagan was fighting an uphill battle on this stuff, culturally, when the previous couple of generations were reared on tales of FDR sitting next to ole' Uncle Joe (and yes, FDR did call him "Uncle Joe" at times to butter the US public up), chatting him up about kickin' Nazi butt.

But Hitler? We got it every single year. Always in the context that Nazis were JUST AROUND THE CORNER, DAMN YOU.

Meanwhile, older generations got THIS swill:

No, I'm not in your little bubble. The social sciences are extremely poorly taught in this country.
