Again, all you have to do is provide the proper context in which you think we should have received the message. I'm genuinely curious as to how that's simply a bit of a wording mishap.

The full sentence:

quote:

CAIR was founded after 9/11, because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.

The point is the contrast of some people and all of us. There are better ways to illustrate the difference between Islamic radicals and the rest of the Muslim population, but I don't think the intent was to trivialize 9/11.

Has she ever expanded on her quote? I mean if so many people took her out of context, you'd think she would want to clear this up.

quote:

CAIR was founded after 9/11, because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.

Such horseshite. This country bent over backwards to let American Muslims know this wasn't about them. We were way more constrained than we could have been.

By contrast, they should have put it up and anyone who messes with it could get knuckle checked by real Americans. They could sell PPV tickets for $25 a piece and made bank.

Correct, her intent was never to trivialize 9/11. It was to dismiss the people that carried it out as insignificant outliers. If you really want to put that quote in context, you can contextualize the fact that CAIR has close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood which is so bad that they were forced out of power in Egypt because of their radicalism. That's the real context and it shows why she said what she said. It was no "misspoken statement".

CAIR was founded in 1994.

She knew what she was saying.

A 2 for 1 deal saying it's because of Covis AND protests? Thank God for these leaders cancelling this it could've been bad.
