Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow killed in police ambush.
In my younger days, this car was exhibited in various towns across Louisiana (and maybe elsewhere). I got to see it one day when I was coming out of a Saturday matinee in Bogalusa.

With all that Rusty pitting, paint sure wasn't very good back then...

The guy who ratted them out likely committed one of the murders attributed to Clyde and got off scot free.

I think it was his old man that set them up, but I believe it was in exchange for getting his son off the hook for moider, which he did, think the dude ended up croaking in Lake Chuck

Recently stopped at the Bonnie and Clyde memorial site where they were gunned down. Was quite proud to see that the site was geared towards memorializing the officers that took them down rather than Bonnie and Clyde themselves.

back then, automobiles were built in America using steel and lasted forever. Cars today are imported and made of aluminum resembling pressed sardine cans

I think it was his dad that ratted them out or at least it was in The Highwayman

there's a small monument not far from where I live marking the spot where two motorcycle cops were gunned down in cold blood by the Barrow gang, that was what turned the tide of public opinion about them and probably stepped up the heat on them, before that they were seen sort of as a "Robinhood" gang

I begged my parents to hitch up the mule to the wagon and take us to Arcadia to look at the carnage!

I was just thinking about this today. Not realizing that it was actually the anniversary of the event... I guess because I was bidding on a newspaper on ebay from 1934 about them getting killed... I know it's not WWII but hey, I want one...
Anyways, I was thinking about this event, the media and how it compares to today.
What I mean is. Why do we have this fasination with them. They are almost looked as celebrity heros and cult figures. When in actuality they were robbers, murders and cop killers.
So my thoughts here as with today is it falls upon the media. The media displaying them as loving couples.. Young, innocent...
I guess that I am trying to point out that back then, as today, the media can direct the narrative as they want.
