BREAKING: A magnitude 8.2 #earthquake occurred roughly 25 minutes ago along the Aleutian Chain in Alaska. Its hypocenter was 29 miles deep. This DOES appear to be a thrust quake along the Aleutian Trench. #Tsunami likely with this along coastal #Alaska and beyond!

We are staying with my wife’s(no pics) family, they said the tsunami was more than likely nothing to worry about. But being we are all from Louisiana, we are having a Tsunami Party

Where you at in AK? I’m in Homer, had some friends say they felt “rollers” but I didn’t feel shite. The Spit sure emptied fast af. Sirens still going….usually don’t do that….

Largest US quake since 1965

Possible 40 foot wave observed

Might want to keep an eye on it

Update: Hawaii advisory cancelled. Bottoms up.

There was a house on the remote Japanese island of Yakushima with an LSU sign on it.

2007 or 2008-ish

If you know your Japanese geography, you realize how remote that is.

Not many gaijin at all there, fewer living there.
