Lemme stop you right there. It is disrespectful. Especially in the context where the custom is to rise out of respect.
You don't have to burn the flag to show disrespect. It's your right to do so, but at least have the integrity to call it what it is.
I'll ask you this. What's more disrespectful: a guy sitting in silence or a guy yapping about bullshite on his cell phone? Because if you're gonna crucify Kaep, y'all damn sure better crucify all those people too. At least be fair about it.
We pride ourselves on being the Land of the Free, but yet we try to bully people into standing for something they don't care about or know the meaning behind. You step out of line, you get blasted for it. Am I the only one who sees the irony in that?

Good God, if sitting silently is disrespectful, I'd hate to see what y'all would have said if he burned a flag and said, "F*ck America"
Say what you want, but its still disrespectful. 80,000 other people in the stadium stand to honor the men and women who fought and died defending our country, but he sits or kneels out of protest during whats supposed to be a moment to honor our country and those who sacrificed for it.
But hey, lets defend the guy who has a press conference to protest against supposed oppression while wearing a Fidel Castro shirt

Hold up--if I see someone yakking ok their cell phone in my section when I attend the Spurs game tomorrow night, damn right I'll have a problem with it and call it out (and so would the majority of my section--this here is Military City, USA).
That's not the issue at hand, though. So bringing up a hypothetical at that juncture was nothing but deflection on your part.

I'm not bullying anyone. Hell, I just said it's your right to express yourself own you wish with the flag. Quit playing the victim. It's a cheap tactic.

More like, if you do something disrespectful (and I just explained why it is exactly that), be prepared for others to express their feelings so well. It's a two-way street.

Hard to believe it's been over a decade since the Malice at the Palace. Time flies.

That is so far from normal behavior at NBA games it's laughable. That's why that was news.

Exactly, she was looking to become click bait.

Asked to sing a song about the land of the free
Wears a shirt that says "we matter"
Told cannot wear shirt
Why does the 76ers hate freedom?

The 76ers exercised their own freedom.

The people who misunderstand freedom of speech on this board are mind blowing.
