Was getting the Book of Life Savers from a classmate the best gift from your school Secret Santa?

Remember those...They were awesome. Any others you remember?

I convinced a girl named Robin to touch my peepee at recess, but I guess your Lifesavers are pretty cool, too.

The paper always stuck to the Lifesavers on those. Really annoyed me.

As a kid, it was last to be eaten or traded. As an adult, only ones I would eat today!

Butter scotch was my least favorite, IIRC. Seems like the multi flavor with red and green was most popular as kids.

I remember in my 1st grade class we drew names to exchange gifts. I have no idea what the dollar limit was, probably something like $5, which would still get you a pretty cool toy in 1976. Seems like I drew a girl’s name and bought her a cool (for a girl) Barbie something or another. As for my gift, I received this cheap assed blue pistol that was supposed to shoot ping pong balls but the damned thing didn’t work. Looked like they bought it from the crappy toy section at Bargain Town (the 70s version of Dollar Tree) I was pissed off all day. All the other kids had cool gifts while I got ripped off.

Looking back four decades later, I know that might have been the best that kid’s parents could afford. But when you’re six year old, you don’t make such considerations.

I have done a lot of work for one of these big companies that believe in all this diversity stuff. There was a gay guy named Robin who worked at one of the locations I used to go to. He told me back in school he tricked a guy into asking him to touch his peepee at recess. Your stories seem oddly similar.

we used to have a pencil dispenser at my elementary school that if you put a nickel or 10 cents you would get an NFL team striped pencil. Hated to get Greenbay at the time, and always wanted Dallas.

Kid or adult, I would have traded all the others for Wint-O-Green.

I had the whole set of those pencils and mini helmets. Probably 20yrs went by before I used one of those pencils. We didn't have the vending machine. I think I got them at the book fair.
