I can’t count on my fingers how many times I’ve had at least a 500 dollar unexpected bill

If that is true, they are spending way too much money.

I’d assume just 2. If you don’t max the limits to get the umbrella you can get two cars for under $250

I was living paycheck to paycheck earlier this year but the extra bump in take home pay once I maxed out the social security tax last week helped a bit.

Are rates just ridiculously high in Louisiana?? My vehicle is 10 years old and over 150k miles and I went over $100 after a solo incident in it and I’m going to be looking for new insurance.

I just wonder when the American people will wake up and realize the government is AGAINST you.

$4+ for a gallon of gas, monthly healthcare the size of a beach condo payment, rising food costs, daycare costs. The government sucks.

My wife and I don't live paycheck to paycheck by any stretch, but how the hell does my neighbor with 1 physicians assistant income, a stay at home wife, and 3 kids under 6 manage to buy a 475k house?

He’s probably carrying a 42.9% DTI and had to put his car loan in his moms name so the note wouldn’t show up on his credit pull. See it happen all the time, and the idiots still don’t see that as a red flag that their spending habits are out of whack.

Guarantee they got money from their parents on the down payment (or get some regularly).

And there was another thread yesterday or the day before about mortgage default rates, and California was one of the best faring states (and getting better).

It’s not like there aren’t plenty of baws back in Louisiana driving a $60k pickup while living in a $120k house; at least here the Tesla is more likely to align with the owner’s overall financial situation.

Here's monthly just for transportation. We have 5 cars - 2 financed and 3 paid for. My daughter pays her own gas and insurance, the 4 others are included here. Car 2, the $145 one is my daughters car - it was a college grad present.

Wife and son commute to NOLA - she has the extra parking because I want her in the office building parking garage, not down the street cheaper.

This is $2k per month - middle aged couple with kids.

We're not paycheck to paycheck but 6 figure income is a min requirement to not be that way.

  JAN
Transportation Estimated
Vehicle 1 payment 345
Vehicle 2 payment 145
Public transportation 0
Fuel 400
Insurance 600
Maintenance 200
Licensing/Tax 20
Parking 250
Commute gas 300
