Yikes

Per Mass State Police

quote:

Residents in the affected towns of Lawrence/North Andover/Andover who have gas service from Columbia Gas should evacuate their homes immediately if they have not already done so. Gas lines are currently being depressurized by the company it will take some time.

So far no one hurt thankfully.

Damn Columbia is the worst. They’ve had so many complaints and do nothing to fix their issues. Hope they go belly up over this.

Been following this but how does this happen? Wouldn’t regulators have to be tampered with?

I'm guessing after this whole thing plays out we might not have to worry about them.

Yeah reports are just rolling in. There’s no way this ends with a zero body count unfortunately.

My family is originally from North Andover, checked in with the cousins and thankfully their house doesn’t have gas. Definitely a scary thing to see on the headlines for an area that’s usually so quiet and you don’t hear much about.

Inb4, I was there last October, could of been me!

Did they over-pressurize the system, creating leaks at individual locations? Can't imagine that many houses having issues.

Yeah, can't imagine multiple leaks all at the same time in multiple locations.

Supposedly was from overpressure, but I don't know anything about how that works. Wasn't there some entire neighborhood that blew up a few years ago from a gas line pressure issue?

They don’t know what happened yet

There are 38 overall explosions with 18 active fires right now. 6 people sent to the hospital with 2 in critical condition.

That’s all the news is reporting right now.

Supposedly Columbia was doing some sort of scheduled improvement or some such on the lines today, according to a bulletin posted on their website.

A bulletin which has vanished with the quickness, yet had been archived.

Buncha people bout to get paid.

I'm guessing that missing top half of the chimney behind the car hit the drivers side of the car
