54 years ago from today, MLK " I have a dream" speech

Last history thread for today, I promise.
Article on " I have a Dream"
In my opinion, he was one of the last great Civil Rights leaders. I think he would be vastly disappointed with the stance so many Black leaders and their constituents have taken.
He would be proud of the accomplishments that have been made in this country, but I believe he would agree that Blacks today don't realize what true discrimination really is.
P.S. For the record, I am aware of MLK's alleged indiscretions. I will simply say, just like many Confederates and other political leaders, that a man should looked upon for the good things he did in life.

I didn't even know MLK was a civil right.

MLK would be rolling over in his grave right now if he saw everything this country has turned into

Was this before or after he screamed "I'm fricking for Jesus" whilst cheating on this wife? Just asking for clarification.

I wouldn't entirely buy this.

If he was alive today and delivering the speech in Houston, would it be, 'I have a wet dream'?

I wonder if he dreamed that one day the worst street in every major city would be named after him...

Malcolm X thought MLK was an Uncle Tom

Do you think MLK would support DJT or the liberal left/GOPe?

It's always amusing when a board full of people who voted for Vitter pretend to be outraged over this.

If only the black leaders today tried to be more like him

Doesn't every man that has a huge drive for political achievement by definition have a huge drive for sexual achievement also.
Can you name 1 instance where this is not the case? I'll hang up and listen.
Also, the only way that judging on content of character can be enacted is if a huge C is branded on the forehead of everyone who has upstanding positive character so that we will know who they are.

MLK was quite militant, I have the show Blackish to thank for that, read the rest of his I have a dream speech, he started to lay into white people.

Or that it somehow negates the great things that he did. No one said he was a saint.
