Holy hell you know how hard it is to get through nuke school? I think the graduation rate is like 10 to 20 percent of the people who go in graduate. It has a very high failure rate and supposedly the toughest school in the Navy which is why their reenlistment bonus can reach 100k. So if they did bust 14 nukes that will be felt

Not difficult. It's similar to high school and the material is delivered in simple terms. Failure rate is maybe 10-15%. They do everything they can to keep you in it.
The problem is actually getting people to enter the program since it a 6 year signup, even though it leads to a lucrative career in Commercial Nuclear plants ($135K+ immediately) after your enlistment is over.

does one that’s tripping keep that under wraps aboard an aircraft carrier?
1. They count on not being in an alert or attack.
Therefore its the height of Dumbassery.
2. I bowled a 188 on acid when I was 28. It was my 4th time and last time using it.
Jim.Bouton and some As pitcher threw no hitters on.acid back then.
Yep. 188.

Must be a failed Nuke down voting my posts.
Nuke A School, Power School and Prototype are all easy if you are not an idiot.

Acid can lead to your visions becoming reality. The key is, when your visions get all fricked up, to not forget you're just tripping

Doesn't seem like an aircraft carrier would be an ideal place to take a trip

Bruh, its difficult but not that hard. I'd say of dudes I went through with 75% made it to fleet as nukes.

I dont remember my class number, but I went to boot camp in January 03 so we were there at the same time. I didnt have any hold ups.

Customers drive business. I suspect that list is much larger (and much more tenured) than just 5 people.

That was in Bremerton then right? I was in Everett for mine, except for about a year in Bremerton in drydock.

Transferred to it right when it exited dry dock in September of 1992.
Sea trials started in early 1993 and it moved back to its home port in Alameda in April of that year.

Failure rate was around 40% for the pipeline when I was in (NPS Class 9702). Trying to "keep someone in" was putting them on 40-6 and making them stand in class instead of sit, you know, because that way they'll pay attention!
