Because those buffets won't eat themselves.

One cruise liner started selling tickets for its 2021/2022 world cruise, at $40,o00 a cabin, and the ship sold out in one day.

I don’t think people shelling out 40k for a cruise are the buffet types

Would be amazing. I've known a few folks who have done them.

guessing this is a much smaller top of the line cruise? Carnival patrons aren't paying 40k

Must be like a floating target instead of a floating Walmart

Most week long cruises on upscale ships are 10k +. Lots of people out there are loyal to these niche lines.

Probably more like a floating Whole Foods.

How long is the world cruise? I guess $40K isn't as crazy if it's spread over a months long cruise. For a 2 week vacation that's pretty steep! Also sounds like my worst nightmare being stuck on a ship of mouth breathers for that long.

3-4 months, usually. Oceana does them.

friend of mine chartered a yacht in the Med a few years back, asked if the wife(no pics,) and I wanted to go, ragret that we didn't, $20k/couple, staff on call 24 hours, boat was stocked with a shopping list submitted by customers, had all of the water toys, pulled up close to shore to watch the Le Mans or Grand Prix(whichever one you can see from the sea, not into car racing,) was a pretty cool trip

Yep, the upscale lines are a big industry.

I also didn't see the world cruise line so that explains why it's 40k. Those at sea days when crossing the pacific and Atlantic must get pretty boring and rough depending on weather

Yeahhh, I’d take that at the drop of a hat. But I’m a pretty big F1 fan so I’d pay the 20k just to shack up on a yacht for a week to watch the Monaco GP.

really regret not doing that, don't remember why we didn't, they had a hell of a time, the husband of the friend that set it up died a year or so later, we had talked about doing that for years and when they set it up and asked us it was on short notice, that's an opportunity that I won't get back, now I'm at the point(age) where I don't turn much of any opportunity down
