so, if they suspend the license, do they not pay the license fee?

Have you seen the video? The name of the person is posted right up at the top. For fun, do a little search on that name. Interesting results. (I'm not sure if posting such results is allowed here)

In Jefferson Parish there are several "Restaurants" that when they opened did not have the correct zoning to get AG Licenses (Alcohol General/Bar) so to circumvent the zoning issues they applied for and received AR/Alcohol Restaurant licenses. They lie about their sales figures to stay above 50% on the food but operate completely as a barroom. These places have been absolutely packed the last 2 weeks and nobody is wearing masks and everyone is drinking till 4am and they are advertising it on social media. Some of these places are fairly well known. In what world does a business that lied to circumvent zoning that doesn't allow them to get a certain license and lies about their figures to keep their license get to stay open and operate the same exact way as a bar while the bars who had the right licenses in the same Parish and in many cases on the same block have to remain shuttered. I'm not trying to rat anyone out but my business sits shuttered while i pay rent and lose my arse while i go sit at a bar less than a mile away with 60-70 ppl on a Friday happy hour and drink. Then you go try to apply for a restaurant conditional license like Wrong Iron who has an AG License and never even operated a kitchen before this, they had food trucks and the ATC sticks you on a 35 day back burner. It's fricking bullshite. If bars can't open because alcohol reduces social distancing then restaurants shouldn't be able to serve alcohol. If a bar can't sell alcohol to go then a grocery shouldn't be able to sell alcohol to go. The politicians are making it up as they go and screwing over businesses that they choose in the process. Nothing about any of this is fair or even logical at this point. Everything should be open at this point and if you are afraid of catching it stay home. It's totally unfair to single out a certain business that is licensed while they watch other businesses operate in a similar and at times exact manner as them in the same neighborhood.

Are you fricking 12?
I rarely drink, so bars being shutdown doesn’t bother me personally.
It’s the fact that I give a shite about my community & seeing small business owners get screwed because of rules that don’t make sense sucks.
I can go sit at a restaurant bar but I can’t go to the daiquiri shop next door
I can go bowling & sit at the bar there
It’s wrong to pick on one very specific type of business especially after they were just allowed to reopen & restock
It may “just be a bar” but that bar closing affects a lot of people from distributors to delivery drivers, people that are trying to support their families like the rest of us.

This is one of those "which came first" things. Did the restaurants start doing it to counteract the government fudging of stats or did the government do it to combat the stat twisting by the restaurants?

Apparently you, you obtuse stupid a-hole.
It’s not about being able to drink, it’s government picking and choosing whose lives to ruin.

Do some research and you too can understand why bars have not been allowed to open.
