Hatchets may or may have not been buried. Niether party may or may not care to address this issue any longer. But that's purely speculative on my part.

Good for Jody. He's turned out to be a very well adjusted guy, or he's dealing with it the way he knows how.

That being said, it's difficult to blame Gary, regardless of the sentence one way or the other. A man rapes your child repeatedly like that, and it's a no brainer that you want that piece of shite to pay, and then some. Now, the rest is between him and God, but for me to sit here and condemn the man for taking the law into his own hands for what was done to his little boy, it just isn't going to happen. I think most people get it. The law can do what it wants, but so will the dad, damn the consequences.

I've never met anyone that knows about the story and doesnt say they'd do the exact same thing if they could. I can say right now I would if that happened to my kid.

Jody found solace and catharsis in sports. Very common in young and older athletes. The way Favre dealt with his father's death for example. It's an escape in competition and success fosters confidence and healing.

It has to do with kids' sports and knowing the coaches. They trusted Doucet with their kid the whole time he was molesting Jody.

While I have no doubt that you love your kid, no you wouldnt

This unfortunately occurs very frequently to kids throughout this country and parents RARELY ever do that, despite how often we hear of this potential vigilante response from parents.

Its been 30 years since it has happened in this area

Good question. I'm only speculating but I believe ESPN reported on it because Doucet was Jody's Martial Arts instructor.

He was a trusted coach.

Gary Plauche did what every red blooded father would want to do if they were ever in a similar role.

I watched it live on tv and didn't even put my fork down. Didn't hurt my feelings a bit but man this thread gets worn out on here.

30 years ago, those with the revenge mindset would probably do it.

If I have kids and this were to happen, even if I walked in on the act, with the current POA, I would be afraid I would go down for murder 1 and ruin the rest of my family's life.

With that being said, I might just completely shatter and break his kneecaps, legs, ankles, and all toes for good measure.

K

Yeah, for real.

Is this where I act cool and go against everything the judicial system stands for and say that it's totally fine that this guy took the law into his own hands?

He didn't avoid the judicial system, he plead No Contest, was found guilty of man slaughter.

BTW, anyone that says they saw it live is wrong, it was not live, it happened about 9:30, channel 2 showed it at 10 o'clock news
