Wasn't this one on video? If this is the case I'm remembering it seemed pretty open and shite they were guilty.

It was a brilliant move by the defense. Not only did the Hamilton county jurors not hear much about the case prior to this trial residents there are perhaps more willing to give police in general the benefit of the doubt compared to Shelby county.

Also the two officers that allegedly were the more culpable of the group already pled guilty to federal charges leaving the door wide open to point the finger more at them during testimony.

And you can't tell me when the defense handpicked those jurors it wasn't a coincidence that they were all white.

To answer your question though yes it was all on video for the most part. Everyone here is shocked that the verdict is what it was. I mean how can you justify that many officers weren't able to subdue him long enough to handcuff him.

I have no idea how you find them not guilty.

Were they over charged?

What those cops did had nothing to do with law enforcement. They beat a guy to death. I have no idea why they did but they did. They should be in prison.

the guy that was killed worked night sort at Fed Ex. he was romantically involved with the wife of the first LEO that pulled him over. that was the only reason for the stop.

the cops were all members of the SCORPION unit. they focused on gang members in the intercity.

Tyre wasn't about that life. Borderline autistic guy that worked all night and would go skateboard all day.

This wasn't the normal "comply or die" situation.

Tyree was messing around with the 1 cops ex ol' lady. "Nerdy" is a good adjective. My black friend referred to him as a "back pack kid", because he wore a back pack everywhere he went.

That is the only reason he ran. He knew it was a hit when he saw the cop.

Rebel, you and I don't see eye-to-eye sometimes, but I appreciate you standing up for Nichols.

That's because I am more pragmatic than you are. Curious if you voted for Amy Wyrick or Steve Mulroy for DA last go around?

I abstained. I knew enough about Mulroy but I also wasn't going to re-coronate Weirich. That bitch was incompetent as hell.

I don't think Amy's DA office would have lost this case. It almost seems like Mulroy threw the case.

Seems a pretty big injustice happened today.

Hopefully this city will remain calm and level headed.

So far it's quiet as frick. I live in Midtown.

Same for two winters ago when the DA's office released the footage. It was surreal how quiet that Friday night was. No traffic. Like a snow day.

Think people are just as hurt and upset as they were that night.

Not everything has to be so blatantly dark.

Has there ever been this sort of situation?

Black officers, black suspect, white jury?

Idk enough about the situation to have an opinion on it but the prosecution has as much input on jury selection as the defense

Of course getting it in Chatt to begin with had to have been a win for the defense

They did. They wont.

Anyone who is OK with the state behaving in this manner seriously needs to do some soul searching.
